In my 20+ years of selling real estate all over the GTA, one question was always front and center, and was always the one causing the most stress during the home buying process.
- What can we afford and how do we get the financing?
- What can we do to minimize our payments?
- Do we need CMHC insurance?
- Are there any programs out there that would help us?
- Whom should we talk to first, a realtor or a mortgage specialist?
- Can we do this?
The answers are always important and there is a lot of help available to make sure you do the right thing. Right thing for YOU!
While there are online tools available (click here), there really is no better way to figure things out than to actually sit down for an hour with a professional. Whether a realtor, a mortgage broker or your banker, you should leave the meeting with a lot of important information that pertains to you. Should be about you and only you. If you feel comfortable with the mortgage broker or banker you deal with then just apply for a pre-approved mortgage and you will be on your way.
Please remember that realtors can also advise you on current mortgage rates and payments and give you additional information on price and current market trends.
Feel free to reach out to me for a no obligation, no hassle, no cost and no pressure consultation to answer most of those questions.
